Spring blossoms

A purple carpet lines the grassy meadows. Today being the equinox, spring is here at last — and not a moment too soon for my antipodean blood. Went to hear a lecture in the Sheldonian Theatre given by fellows of the Royal Society; Dawkins and Highfield (editor of New Scientist) pulled out, which was disappointing, but the discussion was interesting.
